Our Story
A Mascot. A Nickname. A Legacy.
Two traditions, four brothers, and one idea to bring the Berries to life.
OUR HERITAGE TIMELINE
1871
LHS BEGINS
Logansport High School is founded in 1871, opening doors to education, opportunity, and a stronger future for our community.
1926
FELIX AND THE BERRIES
A player brought a Felix plush to a comeback basketball victory. Felix became the LHS mascot, and around this time Loganberries, then Berries, became the team identity. The Berry Bowl name followed.

AN IDEA TAKES ROOT
At a family reunion, the phrase Home of the Berries sparked an idea to connect LHS education, local agriculture, business, and community pride in a lasting way.

A LEGACY IN BLOOM
We are planting for the long view, growing relationships, building opportunities, and looking ahead to Logansport’s 200th anniversary in May 2038.
Four Brothers Deep Roots
Always a Berry
Bill and Chris McFatridge raised their four sons with strong values, hard work, and pride in their schools and community. Ronn, Mike, Joe, and Jim carried those values forward as they grew up. All four graduated from LHS and carry Always a Berry in everything they do.
